When our order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry -- SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just surfing.
All EliteCertify online ordering is done through our dedicated remote secure server. This server uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) data encryptioin, the industry standard for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all your personal information including credit card number, name and address, so that it cannot be read as it travels over the internet. It can only be unscrambled by the site that receives it. Breaking this type of encryption is highly unlikely. In fact, it's much safer than physically giving your credit card to someone. There are no receipts or carbons left over.
SSL or Secure Sockets Layer is a level of encryption, developed by Netscape, to scramble information sent to a web server. A Secured Sockets Site is a web site which incorporates this technology on their server and in their important documents such as corporate databases or online order forms. This means that when a consumer initiates a transaction, the software sets up a secure key code that is used by both the consumer's machine and the web server to ensure that no one can tap into the transaction somewhere down the line. If they do, all they receive is unintelligible garbage rather than a completed order form and the consumer's credit card information. |
